About Backpack Blessings

Backpack Blessings, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, provides food to needy students in the local area. Funded solely through donations and supported through volunteers, the charity provides a backpack of nutritious, kid-friendly food at the end of each week to over 300 students at 8 local schools. For many, this becomes their main source of food outside their school. The group’s goal is to help ease the hunger of children so that they attend school regularly and have better health. Each backpack contains two breakfasts, two lunches, two dinners, two juices, assorted fruit cups, applesauce, cookies, chips and pudding. When possible, they also provide clothing, coats, hats, scarves, gloves, shoes, boots, school supplies to students. More information regarding Backpack Blessings via their website or their Facebook page.
