Ugly Christmas Sweater Party

A family of four stands prominently displaying their ugly Christmas sweaters.
A rather poor display of ugly Christmas sweaters, if we do say so ourselves. Surely, you have one better.

If you enjoy great food and creating memorable times with old friends, while displaying a sweater that even your mother-in-law would be embarrassed to wear, we invite you and your friends to join us for our First Annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party. The event will take place Tuesday, December 22nd, at Bricks & Barrels, Charleston’s newest and most exciting restaurant specializing in steak and seafood delicacies. The event officially kicks off at 6 pm, but you’re welcome to attend at your leisure. Just don’t forget to book your table.

Think you have the ugliest Christmas sweater in all of West Virginia? You may be right, but there’s only one way to find out! And if you do, you could get paid for it. Bricks & Barrels is offering a $100 gift certificate for the ugliest, as selected by our panel of judges. More importantly, you’ll be forever crowned as the first ever B&B Ugly Christmas Sweater Grand Champion. But, even if you don’t win, you’ll enjoy a fun-filled night with friends in an eclectic setting.

• Grand Prize for ugliest sweater – a $100 Bricks & Barrels gift certificate
• Happy Hour prices ALL NIGHT LONG! $4 Craft Beers, $5 glasses of house wine, and $5 Martinis
• Federalist Chardonnay or Cabernet $29 per bottle
• Sangria $5 per glass
• Reserve early for best seating! Barrels won’t last long!

In addition to our regular everyday menu, we will have several food specials for the evening. One feature will be our Fried Green Tomato Napoleon, a dish that can be eaten as an appetizer or entrée depending on your appetite. Either way, it is quickly becoming a food favorite for both regulars and newbies alike. It’s taste is borne of southern flavor, brought to you exclusively by Chef Lee Swoope.

For those more adventurous, Chef Lee will also feature a dish consisting of fried quail and head-on shrimp. The quail and shrimp are served with West Virginia blue corn Johnny cakes, asparagus and a cauliflower curry purée. The dish isn’t for everyone, but those willing to give it a try have loved it.

Not to be outdone, Bartenders Drew and Kristian have dreamt up several specialty cocktails sure to warm up your night. We highly recommend the Mint Chocolate Martini, consisting of Smirnoff Premium vodka, Peppermint Schnapps, Crème de Cocoa, chocolate syrup and cream. The duo’s White Chocolate Expresso, consisting of a shot of fresh expresso, Patron XO café tequila, Godiva white chocolate liquer and a splash of cream, makes for a great nightcap.
